Daniel L. Morris
Daniel has represented injured workers in Texas since 1996. He is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Argentina and Mexico.
He has been involved in the Texas Workers’ Compensation Bar Section since its inception and has served as a workers’ representative for the board. He has lectured numerous time at the Texas Bar Advanced Workers’ Compensation Seminar for over the last ten years and has spoken on subjects from “How to Handle Your First Workers’ Compensation Claim” to the “Legislative Update.”
Matt has represented injured workers pursuing Texas workers’ compensation claims since 1998. Additionally, he helps those that can’t return to work obtain social security disability benefits.
Currently, Matt serves on the board of the State Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section representing injured workers, and speaks annually at the Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Seminar. He is board certified in Workers’ Compensation Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has been named a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly Magazine every year since 2012.
Gargi Patel earned her Bachelors in History and Political Science from the University of North Texas in 2012. She graduated from Charlotte School of Law in 2016. She participated in the International Refugee Assistance Project in Law School, and interned at a non-profit where she assisted victims of abuse gain legal status in America. After law school, Gargi worked at the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she assisted victims of disasters obtain government loans. Gargi is licensed to practice law in Texas.
Gargi Patel was born in India and raised in America. She is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi. She is also familiar in German. Gargi loves to travel and is passionate about discovering new restaurants and cuisines.
Layla Benjamin is a native Texan, born and raised in east Dallas. She graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law with a passion to help real people. After graduation she began representing injured individuals with their claims against insurance companies. She’s successfully helped hundreds of people to get the results they deserved.
Layla enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs walking the trails of White Rock Lake and visiting local businesses. There isn’t a place in east Dallas that she’ll walk into without seeing a familiar face. Layla participates in community activities like the neighborhood get-togethers and local elections. She also likes to travel to new places and experience new cultures.
Janet Booker was born in London, England. She graduated from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas and received her JD from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas.
For over 24 years, Janet has represented injured and disabled people in hearings throughout the state of Texas. She currently handles Social Security disability claims all over the United States. Janet’s hobbies include traveling and bowling. Her passion is working with Echidnas, a social skills group for young adults with autism.
Robert grew up in a military family and has lived in many places. After graduating from high school in California, he attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas where he received his undergraduate degree. Robert received his law degree from St. Mary’s University Law School in San Antonio, Texas where he was an Articles Editor on the St. Mary’s Law Journal. Since graduating from law school, Robert has been an attorney for over 30 years. He has worked at large and small law firms and worked as an in-house attorney for a large international corporation. Robert enjoys handling trial/litigation cases and appellate cases. When he is not working, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, including his daughter who lives out of state, and his two dogs. Robert also enjoys watching college sports, especially if they involve the Baylor Bears.
Josia Jose is an attorney at MLF Legal, PLLC, licensed to practice in Texas. Josia had the opportunity to observe her father, an attorney, from a very young age, and always wanted to pursue law as her career. Originally from India, Josia secured 11th rank in her home state’s statewide law entrance examination, and excelled in all of her law classes before migrating to the United States, where she completed her legal education. Josia’s first appearance in a court was before the highest court of her home state in India at the age of 18, in a constitutional matter, as a pro se litigant, while she was in her first-year law and won, which she deeply cherishes.
Josia graduated from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2011. Josia is a recipient of the Atticus Finch Award for her strong professional integrity in 2010, and a recipient of the Outstanding Student Of The Year award in 2008. Josia interned for one of the Justices of the Supreme Court of India during her final year of law school. Josia’s biggest dream is to appear and argue before the Supreme Court of the United States one day. She believes in the Gandhian quote “in a gentle way, you can shake the world” and she strives to do the same by diligently assisting her clients in an effort to obtain deserving justice every day in court.
Josia is also a sports enthusiast, and her backup career plan was to become an international travelling sports journalist. Josia is multi-lingual; can converse fluently in English, Malayalam and Hindi, and understands Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.
